It does generate many conflicts (even amongst self-described feminists themselves), doesn't it? What's that "sweet spot" where we respect everyone's right to self-identify authentically, while *simultaneously* being vocal about specific language that we (as either individuals, or, amongst peer groups) find to be offensive, while *simultaneously* preventing people from weaponizing those identities against others for nefarious purposes?
It's a delicate balancing act, for sure.
