It's completely reasonable to call historical players "colonizers" when that's indeed what they actually did.

It's dangerous to use the word "colonizer" as a pejorative against White people today, if it's being based on the actions of their ancestors. The historical atrocities can still be exposed and condemned without placing the blame squarely on the shoulders of the sinners' descendants.
