I've never produced AI-generated artwork myself, but I become more and more tempted with each passing day -- the more I hear about random writers on Medium being sued by disgruntled creators with eager lawyers behind them. If I write about a very specific/obscure topic and I can't find a relevant image on Unsplash, Pixabay, or Creative Commons...what are my remaining options, other than creating my own images via an AI program? I (and most writers) can't afford to purchase umpteen licenses for individual images per calendar year.

I do agree that it's unfair to artists who share their original work online when the AI software basically piggybacks off of their publicly-available content...but what alternative is available to those of us who lack the resources or know-how that established artists already possess?
