Between June and September of 2023, I released an eight-part series entitled “Jigsaw Gens.” Each piece, by itself, offers a historical overview of the eight generations that have influenced American life since the late-Nineteenth Century.

These eight installments of my “Jigsaw Gens” series can be read here:

Hemingrebels (aka “the Lost Generation”)

GI-Gens (aka “the Greatest Generation”)

Traditionalists (aka “the Silent Generation”)

Baby Boomers (aka “Leapers” or “Generation Jones”)

GenXers (aka “Generation X”)

Millennials (aka “Generation Y”)

Zoomers (aka “Generation Z”)

Alphas (aka “Generation AA” — “double-AA,” like the battery)

Throughout the rest of 2023 and much of 2024, I intend to begin profiling the generations that aren’t as frequently identified and christened by historians. These are the cohorts of Americans born throughout the 1870s and prior to that.
