Joy Behar is the perfect example. If she says something risque or inappropriate when she's performing in front of an audience who's there to hear comedy, that's fair game because it's part of her stand-up act or performance.

However, when she says inane or bigoted things while discussing serious topics as a panelist on "The View," she doesn't get to hide behind her comedian status to demand a free pass for herself.
