ArgumentativePenguin...every student or professor of Critical Race Studies (and every diversity facilitator) needs to read this piece of yours!

One last time -- for everybody in the back of the room...

"Prejudice" implies a passive belief. Once that prejudicial belief becomes actionable or behavioral, it morphs into bigotry...which inevitably creates some form of discrimination.

"Racism" is an umbrella term. We fail to recognize the distinct subcategories of racism: systemic (institutional), social (individually-based), or cultural (group-based). Sometimes it's a combination of these.

People of color are predominantly the targets of systemic/institutional racism, which are largely racist policies/actions that are governmentally-supported in the public sphere. Hence the definition of that subcategory.

Social racism and cultural racism take place largely in the private sphere (but can also spill into the public sphere)...alternately experienced and perpetrated in multiple directions by White people, Black people, Indigenous people, people in the Latinx community, people in the API community, etc.

Many #Woke people are floating the cult-like dogma that if you fail to subscribe to the belief that racism is *ONLY* systemic, you are racist. Apparently, "antiracist" people must exclusively acknowledge the systemic (forms of racism), while chalking up everything else to mere "prejudice."

Again -- fantastic piece, ArgumentativePenguin!
