Many people with ethnicities stemming from various parts of the Middle East have been advocating for a MENA (Middle Eastern & Northern African) category which they could have the option to mark on their Census forms.

Apparently, the U.S. Census Bureau has refused to grant this request because certain Americans are afraid of the percentage of White citizens continuing to decline.
