Michael, I look at it a different way...

I don't understand WHY anyone would insist on trying to continue pursuing someone who has rejected them.

For me, if someone declines my overtures at dating or courtship, I'd just say to myself, "Okay, he probably isn't the right one for me, and I'm probably not the right one for him. Better that we realize it now, right upfront, rather than wasting time in what could become a toxic long-term relationship."

Been there, done that.

Although I'm an autistic gay male, so perhaps it's a little bit different for me in the respect that: A.) the dating pool is already smaller for me, from the get-go; and B.) I'm probably overly-cautious and overly-hesitant, compared to most people, when it comes to potentially making the first move.
