My major criticism of Jessica's writing isn't the negative tone. A lot of fantastic writers have to be negative within their editorializing, out of necessity.

It's the fatalistic nature of her pieces. In many of them, her narrative pretty much boils down to "We are all fucked!" with absolutely no proposed solutions.

Not EVERY piece of hers, mind you. But many of them.

When she flaunts this level of irresponsibility given her voluminous readership and reach, that's a problem.

And when Medium's curators continue to enable her, that's an even bigger problem.
