My problem with the Framers, in terms of how they conceptualized the right to vote, would be how they obviously couldn't fathom women, people of color, or non-landowning tenants wielding power and structural responsibilities.

So, in that respect: it shouldn't matter what the Framers did/didn't think was possible. We know they were wrong, now.
