I can see what you mean about the dangers of viewing them as "distinct biological races." I guess I just look at "Black," "White," "Latino," "Asian," "Indigenous," etc. in more of a broader sense that alludes to a person's ethnic heritage...and, with all of the mixtures of ethnicities throughout the world, we shouldn't pressure people to adhere strictly to "just one" of those categories if their lineage is more dispersed than that. I advocate using those terms as cultural markers rather than hard-and-fast descriptors.
