Not only is it morally and intellectually bankrupt: it's ineffective. It does nothing proactive to fix the problems. In fact, it usually makes things even worse.

The only people who will respond positively to virtue-signaling from White saviors are those who are already predisposed to buy into that crap. It creates an echo chamber, and then radicalizes everybody outside of that bubble.

My approach is this: recognize where I have privilege due to my racial background; make myself aware of the ways in which various forms of racism can manifest, particularly those to which I may have been oblivious; and continuously be learning the history of racist laws. Then, explore what are the endeavors to make systemic and/or cultural changes, and lend my support to those PROACTIVE endeavors.

None of this, however, necessitates that I self-denigrate myself (or others) for being White. There are many White saviors out there who seem to think it's sufficient to just parrot Robin DiAngelo's dogma...and that suddenly makes them "antiracist allies."
