Oh, I'm not saying DiAngelo is wrong about EVERYTHING. She's right about the overarching problem of systemic racism, for example. But the way she frames it is both intellectually dishonest as well as counterproductive.

Where I disagree with McWhorter is his so-called "colorblind" approach to public policy and cultural conversations. However, on balance, I find that he is approaching these discussions with more nuance and complexity (even if it's not as much as I'd prefer) than DiAngelo and her ilk do.

It's easier to write off folks such as Robin DiAngelo and Michael Eric Dyson, because their grifts are as clear as day (or if you're dealing with an outright narcissist, such as Sunny Hostin). It's much more difficult when someone couches these principles with the comparably more "civilized" demeanor of, say, Tim Wise or Debby Irving.
