Oh, Sunny is definitely a narcissist. However, on the issue of ageism, I feel that she's actually a little better than Joy and Whooopi -- mainly because Sunny herself is an Xer, and her two teen children are Zoomers. By contrast, Joy and Whoopi are both Booomers...and they're more likely to center their personal "wisdom" against younger people
Sunny's bigger offenses are how she embraces racism and misandry -- under the premise that members of BIPOC communities can never be racist (only White people can, under their premise) or that women can never be sexist (only men can, under their premise). She always centers herself and her own sentiments, as a Black (well, Afro-Latina) woman.
And it's disappointing, because I tend to agree with Whoopi on a lot of great points she makes. Ageism is just, unfortunately, a big blindspot for Whoopi. On the other hand, Joy is pretty much hopeless when it comes to clarity.
As I touch upon...I think Sunny's "Livin' in his mama's basement" analogy is largely based on the two older Millennials who caused the Columbine massacre back in 1999. I never thouight of the War on Drugs connection you've drawn, but you may indeed be onto something there!
I agree with you that there are generational trends that are important historical markers for us to recognize. But, somehow, people feel they can use that reality to extrapolate some ability enabling them to automatically interpret somebody's innermost desires...based on nothing more than that person's birthyear on paper (or their outward perceived age).
