Olivia -- I agree with your core point about the nature and conceptual definition of racism.

My only caveat is that I think it's very important to distinguish SYSTEMIC forms of racism from those forms of racism that are social and/or cultural (hence the subcategories), because systemic problems require systemic solutions.

Racism won't be eradicated by everybody simply acting nice to one another.
