One major problem with the #MeToo movement is that certain (not all) advocates have centered it around heterosexual cisgender (usually White) women. They've been allowed to get away with this gaslighting, because no one wants to challenge them (thereby taking the risk of being viewed as "politically-incorrect" or "unwoke").

As a result -- when men, LGBT people, or many POC speak up about our own experiences as #MeToo survivors -- we're lectured by the peanut gallery to "shut up and stop making it all about us"...

Usually by White heterosexual cisgender women (and the men who support them).
