One of the components of the Green New Deal that gets overlooked **EVEN BY** many climate activists is the GND platform that boosts sustainable agriculture through green-friendly policy change.

I have an upcoming Medium piece (a two-part series, actually) that directly confronts this disconnect. It boggles my mind that liberal and progressive people -- and the Democratic Party, in particular -- haven't made the connection of how agri-sustainability would help them make major inroads in traditionally "red" states with significant rural voting populations.

Controlling pollution and greenhouse gas emissions is important...but, if the climate movement wants to truly expand its persuasive influence, the revolutionizing of American farms/ranches would go a long way toward creating a broad-based Rural/Urban Alliance that has, so far, been lacking -- and would speak to the electoral interests of liberals and progressives themselves.
