One thing I try to do, within my own writings, is to approach situations from different angles, and give the benefit-of-the-doubt to those who I'm criticizing (although some individuals make that task really, REALLY difficult).

Something that I appreciate about you, Penguin, is that even when we disagree with each other (within our respective Comments Sections) about certain points, we each seem to do it with nuance.

This article of yours is a good reminder, to myself -- and hopefully to others who are reading it -- that even when we are bashing another writer's message/content, it's often helpful to take a pause and consider whether there's a factor we might be missing. Although, as I said earlier...certain provocateurs on this platform are skilled at making that nearly impossible.
