Part of me wonders if it's because, deep down, this archetype realizes they are a "lost cause" (at least, based on their current behavioral trajectories), so their tantrums are akin to metaphorically throwing up their middle-fingers at this self-induced subconscious notion that they may never achieve love and happiness?
