Political Journalists Remain Part of the Problem

#NotAllJournalists behave irresponsibly…but far too many of them do!

Let me start off by saying that I’m not a fan of Joe Biden. I find him to be very out-of-touch, especially with younger generations of voters (who have mainly supported him as a lesser-of-two-evils). While he has plenty of experience and institutional knowledge — I believe that President Biden’s nostalgia for “more civilized” times blinds him to the multilayered obstacles faced by working-class and marginalized Americans today.

I also reluctantly voted for him in 2020 — although mainly as a way of sticking up my middle-finger at Mitch McConnell and the Republican establishment that panders to MAGA. Over the past two years, Biden has exceeded my expectations (not that they were very high, going into his first term).

I’m prefacing this article with this information to make a point: I’m hardly an apologist for either Biden or the Democratic establishment.

Most of you remember the “Chinese weather balloon” news story from a couple of months ago. Last February, I was sitting in my living room, masochistically watching CBS’s The Talk — when a CBS News Special Report cut in. It provided an update on Biden’s press conference about this controversy.
