So it sounds as though the key is for society as a whole to begin valuing the profession of child care itself, in both stature and financial compensation -- along with ending the stereotyping of such professions being considered "woman's work/obligation."
If that's what you're suggesting, then the question becomes -- why should judges be able to lazily place that onus on "other members of society," rather than confronting their own biases and bigotry?
