So many of these observations resonated with me, from my days belonging to a gym (I no longer do, because I moved to a much smaller community where there aren't any gyms worth my money).

One caveat I have, with the locker room nudity: I agree that people shouldn't treat it like a nudist colony, spending extended periods of time walking around with their balls hanging out while performing gratuitous hygiene tasks. But I don't see any problem with short-term nudity per se in the locker room.

Usually, when I returned from the shower, I'd towel off, and then just drape my towel over the door of my locker and get dressed at a normal pace (starting with my boxers, and adding each new layer). Occasionally, if I happened to end up with a locker right outside the shower room exit/entrance, I'd casually stroll over to my locker completely naked due to that proximity...and none of the other guys ever said, "Dude, put on some clothes." Although that was probably because I'd get dressed almost immediately (because I wanted to leave my locker vacated for someone else who might need it).

But, like you pointed out, I'd never DIRECTLY sit bare-assed on a bench itself.
