SO MUCH THIS!
I was a teenager throughout the entire 1990s. I remember watching, with empathy, as GenXers proceeded to get bashed by Baby Boomers and GI-Gens. Whether it was pop culture, work ethic, attitudes, political beliefs...they kept deriding your generation as vapid "bubblegum-snappers."
And I knew my generation would be next, on the chopping block.
(Technically, I'm part of the shared "Xennial" microgeneration composed of younger Xers and older Millennials...but, obviously, I get defensive and protective of my fellow Gen Y peeps since I've been on the receiving end of that generationally-specific ageism)
I constantly say: if Xers, Millennials, and Centennials pooled our resources and united together, we could form a very powerful Gen X/Y/Z voting bloc and become a real political force...and help make things even easier for the Alphas (Gen AA) as they emerge into adulthood.
