‘Survivor: New World Disorder’ — Recapping Season 46

The 46th season of “Survivor” propelled chaos and salty tension to entirely new levels

The sixth season of Survivor’s post-COVID new era kept us guessing the entire time. Every week was a mixture of nonstop chaos, masterful subversion on the part of the editing team, and plenty of snark from the contestants and host alike. While their gameplay wasn’t quite up to par with what we saw in Survivor: Trial by Grit (Season 45), it certainly became elevated in comparison to earlier “new era” seasons.

As per tradition, I’m assigning a unique nickname to this latest numerically-designated edition of Survivor. I’ve christened the past five seasons as follows:

Season 41 — Survivor: Elemental Monsters

Season 42 — Survivor: Jungle Wars

Season 43 — Survivor: Savage Life

Season 44 — Survivor: Free Radicals

Season 45 — Survivor: Trial by Grit

With Season 46 officially over and done, I’m now announcing its distinctive subtitle…
