That sounds like a backhanded way of coercing the general public into adopting an atheistic worldview.

If someone, for example, claims to have had a near-death experience where they observed a deity (or otherworldly entity) speaking to them...what's to stop a cynic from outright dismissing them as "delusional" or undergoing a hallucination?
