The cacophony of authors you've described are provocateurs. They are fishing for eyeballs by weaponizing their identities via clickbait and outright inanity.

Is it intentional on their part? Or, as Tessa suggested, downthread in your Comments Section: is it a product of mental illness? Or maybe a combination of these factors? Who knows? It could be different for the individual author.

But I rarely, if ever, comment directly on their pieces. They are clearly only seeking an echo chamber, and I have better things to do with my time and energy.
