The reason I ask is because a one-size-fits-all approach isn't necessarily the best policy for most things. I think two-year service could be beneficial for A LOT of students before they enter college...but I don't think we should use something as arbitrary as age to restrict young people who know exactly what they want to study (right out of high school) from doing so.

I also think that, for people who are going to complete their national service AFTER college, there could be some creative ways to intertwine it with areas related to an academic degree they've hypothetically already earned.
