The reason I've been thinking about this a lot lately is because I'm involved with a local racial justice group in my area, led by a Black university professor of history & race studies...and she insists that MENA people "are white." She also insists that people from India "are white in some states." She bases this off of the White colonialism that has subjugated many of those regions.
