The reason they often object to the classification is because they get racially profiled in the United States due to being non-European.
The Census Bureau isn't the sole arbiter of racial dialogue in the United States. Just because they're too racist to give people with MENA ancestry an optional box to check, that doesn't justify people practicing "skin color relativism."
