For any politician who opposes same-sex marriage (or, at least, the secular equivalent of civil unions), my question for them would be: "How would my gay marriage adversely affect your straight marriage?"

If they're not even married themselves, that makes their position all the more ridiculous -- because they should know what it feels like to be shamed for being single.
