There's another reason why Brian Fitzpatrick is an anomaly within the Republican Party...for at least the past three election cycles, he is the only member of his Caucus to consistently cross over and join many Democrats on supporting multiple pieces of agri-sustainability legislation.

I suspect you're right...that his equivocation as of late is due to Fitzpatrick's fears that he might lose reelection in his moderate district by several thousand votes if he veers too far rightward. Yet, if he can prod other Republicans to inch toward embracing more sustainable agriculture measures...I'll take it!
