This is very well-written. I think many of the critics you reference are missing one key concept...
Intersectionality. Different forms of discrimination and oppression can manifest differently -- either separately or overlapping -- in various areas of our lives. It isn't the same for everybody everywhere all of the time.
What that means: just because we are privileged in certain areas of our lives, that doesn't mean such privilege is always relevant in EVERY context by default.
This is why "ranking oppressions" or "Oppression Olympics" just doesn't work. And a couple of the respondents here in your Comments Section seem to be guilty of it, themselves.
