They WANT a heteronormative ideal to be openly and flagrantly pushed, in public schools. They want to position their religious beliefs/interpretations as morally-superior so they can maintain that heterosexual ideal.

It's all about control. Controlling other people's lives while intimidating dissenters from free speech (under the allegation that THEIR OWN free speech is somehow being censored). There's simply no reasoning with these people. The only thing we can do is rally the remaining 70%-90% of the population who *ARE* pro-LGBT, so we outnumber them.
