Valerie, overall, you've made an extremely compelling and eloquent case for the integration of Critical Race Studies in public education.

"If done correctly," however, is the crux of the problem. While the right-wing arguments against CRT are hyperbolic and overblown, there are also valid concerns from the Center (and even from some on the Left) about the "how."

Will individual educators indeed present the history and societal ramifications in a worldly manner that evokes critical thought and discussion/debate? Or, will some overzealous educators, if allowed to teach CRT curriculums, turn it into the exact variety of performative guilt/shame/blame/atonement showmanship that Ted Cruz and his nutty ilk would have us believe...ultimately, in the long run, selectively proving Cruz's point?
