I think what I was trying to say, with my initial comment, was that many cisgender bigots just assume that doctors who provide care to transgender patients are somehow trying to push a pseudoscientific agenda of "social experimentation."

I'd seriously doubt that's the mindset of any doctor. If a given doctor has a right-wing bias, they'd certainly be likely to offer bad advice/(mis)care to transgender patients. But what I'm saying is it's unlikely that any doctors who actually support transgender patients are going to prescribe treatments as hastily as it's perceived that somebody could just opt for a nose job. That's why hormone therapy treatments should be reclassified as an essential health service -- not a "cosmetic" procedure (as it so often currently is).
