Well, actually, I wouldn't know offhand what Qatar's culture and prevailing attitudes toward the LGBT+ community is. I'd definitely research it before visiting the country, if that's what you mean. But I'd research ANY foreign country before visiting it, to weigh the risks against the benefits.

Homosexuality isn't illegal in the United States. There's no reason why anybody who is Queer should *EXPECT* to be mistreated in a public space. If individual business owners decline to make their establishments LGBT+-friendly, that's their prerogative...but the free market may also cause them to lose business because of it.
