Well, I do concur with your assessment about systemic racism: that American systems have been built to prioritize the mythical prestige and perceived "superiority" of White men (and other privileged groups).
I wish the conversation could be centered on exposing these untold parts of history, and then proposing the solutions that could bring us a truly equal society.
For someone who talks about kindness and grace, you sure love tossing around accusations. On some level, I can relate to what you're feeling. Since you're on the spectrum as well, this will probably be familiar to you: every day, I just want to scream uncontrollably due to all of the hatred and misery that gets thrown around. From all directions. So I can empathize with that desire to want to escape to an idyllic world that doesn't exist, where nobody has to be subjected to anymore abuse.
But it seems to me that you are unwilling to extend to me the same "generosity and grace" that you demand from me **BECAUSE** you're projecting behavior you're encountered from others throughout your life...and attributing it to me. We've never had an in-person conversation before, Marnita. Yet, you seem to have me all figured out. So, go ahead and give up. I wouldn't blame you...with all of the Dystopian Porn circulating throughout our planet, I often wonder if I should just exit this world, too. But then I remind myself that, by voluntarily ending my existence, I'd only be giving the people who loathe me what they desire. I'd be validating their own narcissism and delusion.
