Well, I think you may have misread what I was trying to say. I would've had no problems showering in front of my male classmates all throughout the entirety of middle & high school...I just wish I could have had such an experience *without* the constant internalized terror that it would end up becoming a space where I'd get bullied or assaulted.

(Our only nude group showering during high school was during our basketball unit of my sophomore year; and even that was totally voluntary, where only four of us chose to shower afterward)

Those first 6 months of the 6th Grade, where we were required to shower in front of each other, were some of the fondest memories I had of school, in hindsight...because nothing bad happened to me (or, at least, very little bad stuff) in that environment. The FEAR of what **could** happen was much more intense than the actual interactions themselves. I should probably write a much longer (and, dare I say, more detailed) article focusing just on this dynamic/memory, in the future.
