Well, I was being a little tongue-in-cheek when I said that. If the dog's owner is there, and they want to introduce me to their pet under their supervision, I'm usually open to that...CAUTIOUSLY.

But, in absence of the owners themselves or any context for the animal's behavior -- I steer clear, due to my own safety concerns.
