Well, if you're saying that, likewise, the biological mother would also have the responsibility for finding someone to legally assume her half of the financial responsibility in a scenario where she wants the child given up for adoption (post-delivery) but the biological father wants to assume single parenthood...then, assuming I'm understanding you correctly, at least your outlook would be consistent.

But I still oppose the standard of forced paternity/maternity for an unwanted child following birth. It just ends up, too often, creating too much trauma and dysfunction for the child once they reach their adolescent & adult years. If someone wants to be a single parent, then the onus should be on them to supplement the economic burden of raising that child. For single parents who are in lower income brackets: I would support the formation of social programs to aid the financial costs of single parenthood.
