Well, in most cases, when the phrase "emotional labor" is invoked, I suspect the reference is being made by heterosexual women who've grown exhausted from heterosexual men in their lives who take and take and take from the relationship...but who never give back to it. Expecting a de facto mother/son relationship -- rather than an equal partnership.
Now, if you're referring to women misappropriating the phrase "emotional labor" as meaning the times when they have to hear uncomfortable truths from their husband/boyfriend, and they're trying to dismiss his perspective from the onset...then, yes, that type of woman is ill-equipped for a serious relationship.
