Well, racism is different because it categorizes people into basically White, Black, Indigenous, Latino/Hispanic/Chicano, and Asian (with East Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi, Persian, and Middle Eastern ethnicities often categorized separately).

I've also heard American manifestations of colorism alternately referred to as "shadeism." The term is catching on.
