Well said! Along with truth, I would also add the importance of rational, healthy, civilized debate to the equation.

A lot of commentators -- both well-known and obscure -- seem to take a sadistic delight in trolling others (with their targets being, again, a combination of both famous and lesser-known voices).

Rather than name-calling, gaslighting, and questioning people's motives -- when we disagree with what somebody else has said/written...why not ask them follow-up questions, and try to get to the heart of where the disagreement lies? And, in the process, search for what (if any) common ground can be discovered?

I'm just as guilty as anyone of failing to do this, consistently. I'd imagine it's something upon which all of us could strive to improve our skill. Thoughts?
