Well, there are a few problems with their approach, if those are intended their declared motives...
First, what is the definition of "whiteness" that the school would be applying? There never seeems to be a consistent or clear definition for it whenever it's used by...anybody.
Secondly, dividing White students and Students of Color into a dichotomy where guilt/shame are invoked in the former while celebration/pride are brought out in the latter -- that's sort of, um...racist. :-(
And finally, if these activities are being structured for the students without their consent -- and with the outcome essentially coerced -- that's inherently manipulative on the part of the "educators." But try getting Mariama Richards to openly admit that...
