Well, you were focusing on the fact that I chose Joy Behar to criticize. So I'm addressing that. As I've said, I've watched her for years: When someone's rhetoric and sentiments are expressed in patterns, that is indicative of their outlook on life (unless, of course, they're just performatively playing "a character" for everyone).
You're right that she doesn't have any specific responsibility to be a role model for anybody. But she also doesn't get to shirk responsibility for her words and actions when she has a national platform.
By your definition, anytime any two people disagree on a given issue, that could suddenly be construed as "thought-policing." Which suggests you only want to hear viewpoints with which you already agree?
