We've talked about this before, I believe.

"Colorblind" implies that race doesn't play a role in people's lives, and that everyone has the luxury of just ignoring racial disparities. I know that isn't LITERALLY what most people mean when they use the term...but that still doesn't stop the term from being flawed. You know, sort of like "Defund The Police"...

And regarding "color-savvy" or "color-conscious," I agree with you that it's dangerous to make hard-core assumptions about anyone based on their skin color. But I think there's a key difference between saying:

"I recognize the likelihood that you may have faced specific racial adversity in your life based on what your skin color happens to be..."

vs.

"I view you as a victim who needs to be pitied and/or venerated due to your skin color, so I'm going to censor myself and overly-scrutinize all of my words and actions whenever I'm around you, based on the reality of your skin color per se..."

See the distinction?
