What's maddening, if I'm reading and understanding this issue correctly, is how those specific congregations seem to be predicating their desire to "disaffiliate" exclusively based on whether homosexuality is condemned or accepted.

So, essentially, they want to create their own religion based around the proclamation that homosexuality is undeniably "immoral"? And, I suspect (despite all of their anti-government protestations), they'd like for a theocratic version of the U.S. federal government to outright/explicitly affirm their position on homosexuality.
