When people say "I don't care," I think there's a big difference between...

"I don't care, because your sexual orientation doesn't bother me, one way or the other -- I care more about your behavior or character"

versus...

"I don't care, because the persecution against you doesn't have an impact on my life, so your well-being isn't my problem -- you're on your own, kid"
