When people sneer, "You are one of those 'moderates' whom Dr. King warned us about..."

...they are very clearly trying to shame/coerce/bully the target of their criticism into shifting their ideological identity to that of a progressive, a socialist, or a hard leftist.

I'm not falling for it.

I suspect Dr. King's reference to "white moderates" was referring to those who would caution activists with the mantra of "too much, too fast, too soon" in terms of achieving racial progress...*not* LITERALLY everybody who individually views themselves as a centrist or moderate.
