While I don't agree with every point you make in this piece, you do touch upon a lot of other thought-provoking realities. Here's a question for you...

There is a lot of hand-wringing over self-fulfilling prophecies that Democrats "will probably" lose the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2022 midterms.

Based on your observations of Biden's first few months in office, combined with the potential that Democrats have to wield other issues of importance to Americans -- do you see a path, or perhaps a collection of strategies, that could empower Democrats to defy such "conventional wisdom" in 2022? I keep thinking back to how Republicans weaponized 9/11 against Democrats, leading up to the 2002 midterms...and they similarly defied the "conventional wisdom" of midterms by giving the sitting incumbent president (George W. Bush) expanded House and Senate majorities, that year.

Here we are, twenty years later...is there a parallel dynamic that Democrats could tap into, next year? And what might it involve?
